Treatment Programs

Determining the Level of Treatment for Your Loved One

Treatment for your family member begins with exploring all the ways the eating disorder affects them. Once we determine how severe the symptoms are, we can suggest one of five treatment programs:

OUTPATIENT PROGRAM (OP)

Individuals come to our location during the day, for a total of one to four hours per week with options for individual therapy, individual medical nutrition counseling, psychiatric visits, family therapy, and care management.

INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM (IOP)

Patients come to our location for a minimum of three hours per day, 3-5 days per week for services that include group therapy, individual therapy, medical nutrition counseling, nursing care, psychiatric visits, and care management.

PARTIAL HOSPITALIZATION PROGRAM (PHP)

Patients spend the majority of day with us, 5-7 days per week. Core components of this program include group therapy, art therapy, skill building (anxiety regulation and cognitive restructuring), psycho-education, nutrition education, meal and snack support by a Registered Dietitian, cooking class, Recovery Record tracking/coaching, and medical management, all alongside individual psychotherapy and medical nutrition counseling.  This level of care provides a space in a patient’s life to intensely interrupt eating disorder behaviors and provide proper nourishment for weight restoration, weight maintenance and/or food normalization.

TELE-HEALTH

EDCMT offers our outpatient program virtually for patients outside of the Bozeman area. Individuals needing this level of care can now connect with specialized eating disorder trained therapists and dietitians, giving Montanans increased access to the care they need. These engaging virtual programs are ideal for patients who live in areas with limited access to specialty eating disorder treatment, have family, work or school obligations or who are apprehensive about receiving treatment in-person.

During this time, they will have access to many types of treatment, such as:

COUNSELING:

INDIVIDUAL
GROUP
FAMILY

NUTRITION:

NUTRITION COUNSELING
DINING OUT EXPERIENCES
MEAL SUPPORT
GROCERY SHOPPING

OTHER PRACTICES:

EXPRESSIVE ART THERAPIES
RESTORATIVE YOGA
MOVEMENT THERAPIES
OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

Because every EDCMT patient is different, we do not offer a “one size fits all” approach to treatment. Your family member’s journey through our program will be as unique as they are, and will change over time, according to their needs.

What's the Next Step?

Starting group therapy created the opportunity for me to relate to others, not feel so alone. The members in group therapy are some of the most compassionate, empathetic and strongest women I’ve ever met.
